Welcome back to Term 4

Last term we ended term 3 with a great Mad Hatters Tea Party. We also watched Alice in Wonderland. This Term we started with Ms Newton on Monday becuase Ms Whitwell was in Wellington. The first thing we noticed was the big tree by the sandpit had been chopped down.
 Yesterday it rained a lot. There was a huge lake outside our classroom. Some people had to go home early because of the rain. Also yesterday Cosmo our class bear came back from the big wide world. He was travelling around a lot of different countries.
Today the buses can't get to school because of all the flooding and neither can Mrs Reddish. We only have half a class. It is very quiet.

Mad Hatter's Party

 On Friday the last day of school we had a Mad hatter's tea party. Everyone brought  a hat and shared it's history. We sat around in our hats and drank from teac ups. We had sandwhiches, sausage rolls and cupcakes!Bridie wore a scottish hat , Ethan wore a bowler hat. Adam stuck random words on his fishing hat, to make it look like a mad hat. Geordie wore a sombero, it was very colourful. Ryan was in a rush and grabbed the first hat he could find- his sister's! George wore a cap from Australia- he got it this year on a trip there! Elena wore a clown hat- striped with pom poms! Elena has used it for horse shows. Loulou had a flash had, furry and covered with flames. It looks like a circus hat. Anna had an Australian outback hat, she covered it with purple feathers! Christian had a black party hat with sparkley dots all over it! Its his favourite hat. Javan brough an old golfing hat, for the party today Javan pinned cards all over it! Seth brought his dad's hat from Australia, it is made out of rabbit skin and is very smooth. Georgina brought a cap that she got in Queenstown, it is a significant hat because she got it on her her first plane trip. Lauren had a pink hat  ( surprise), it is a like a princess hat, pink, fluffy, twinkly , it is very pretty! Ella's  hat was her mothers, she had worn  it to the Melbourne cup! Libby's hat came from Palmerston, it is a straw hat with  pink and blue ribbons woven through. John's hat came from the North Pole- from Santa Claus! It's John's favourite hat, its even been swimming, when he fell out of a kayak! Caitlin's hat is just a farm hat.... its a black beanie, warm and snug! Bridgitte had a jester's hat!  Colourful! Kayla had a witche's hat, it had hair attached! Kayla's mum wore it last for Halloween. Jaida's hat came from Samoa, a round flax hat. Gemma's came from Samoa too, her Grandma bought it for her! Both hats have a different picture on them. Renee wore a snuggly hat, its a monkey hat, it has long ears with pockets. Rebekah had two hats, her favourite, a  cap, the other was her snuggly pale green beanie, she stole it out of Bailey's drawer. Grace brought her favourite hat, she got it when she was 4 years old. It is pink and made out of corduroy. Larissa brought her dad's hat, it is huge, black and silver,  flash hat from Mexico.  Another Somberero and it is beautiful!
