On Friday Mrs Beautrais from the Whanganui Museum came to us! She brought with her a lot of gourds. Gourds are a plant that grow on a vine, a bit like a marrow. The ones she brought were all different sizes and shapes because that's how gourds grow. Mrs Beautrais shared infromation about gourds, how they grow and what they are used for. Then she invited us to take part in the gourd project. This project lasts a year, we start now by germinating our seeds, then growing them to seedlings, next we will plant them in the garden and hope they produce gourds. Next year, when they
have dried out,
we can decorate them and have them in the museum as part of their gourd exhibition.
Love the korus Hope seed growing is going well.
